Chancey’s Travels
This is the story of my Morgan mare Ulenfield Enchantris aka Chancey, her offspring and her grandchildren.
This isn’t your typical website at all. It gets “wordy” - yes - VERY wordy. However, it’s a warm story from the heart of Chancey’s extremely lucky caretaker who has known her from her very early years. Hopefully, it will be an enjoyable read for you. There was a ten year separation but the bond of love and friendship between caretaker towards this mare could never be forgotten or broken so things came together for what was obviously meant to be. The relationship would pick back up after a long and tiring 2,000+ mile journey for then 19 year old Chancey from California to Alabama. This journey will see her through the rest of her years. This home is permanent for her.
Still thriving after almost 30 years, she is the queen of all she surveys. Arthritis and age have slowed her down a bit but her spirit is still that from when she first chose me.
Being one of the luckiest Morgan Horse owners alive, I am blessed with Chancey, three of her children and two grandsons. There’s NO doubt where they get their heritage and personalities from. Chancey passed those down if nothing else. However, she almost seemed to have control of her genes over the sire’s in many instances. Her last foal was by a park horse who was quite light in his skeletal build however his son looks NOTHING like him being stocky and robust like the classic Morgan. In fact, he is almost a carbon copy of this HALF brother born six years earlier.
Chancey will be loved by more than her caretaker into eternity. She is a special mare and will always have a special place in many, many hearts.

A Warm Welcome From Chancey
Chancey and her kids ready to embark on yet ANOTHER trail ride. This was taken in 2002. From left to right is her 1994 son AJ, her 1990 daughter Lissie, her 1986 daughter Tess and then of course the grand matriarch herself - Chancey.
In the upper right is Chancey relaxing at the Buffalo River Trail Ride Campground in Waynesboro, Tennessee. One of her best pictures I think.
